Thank you for joining the University of California San Joaquin Master Gardeners (MGs) as they share with you their knowledge and experiences of gardening in San Joaquin County.

If you aren't familiar with our program, let me fill you in. The MG program is a nation-wide program and was revitalized in our county in 2007. It is supported by the communities of San Joaquin and AB939. The MG volunteers are residents of San Joaquin County. They are a diverse group of people who have completed an18 week training in horticulture for the purpose of volunteering their time to share that knowledge with you, the home gardener.

We plan to address local issues related to green waste minimization, resource conservation, sustainable landscaping, environmentally friendly gardening practices and garden enhanced nutrition by extending UC researched based information to the public. We will be sharing “how to” information, notices of upcoming events, seasonal gardening tips, answers to common calls we receive in our hotline office, topics of interest to the writer and more.

We are excited about sharing this blog with you and hope you enjoy reading it! We look forward to your questions and feedback.

If you have a gardening related question you can contact the UC Master Gardeners at 209-953-6112. More information can be found on our website at http://sjmastergardeners.ucdavis.edu.
